POURING NOZZLE FOR CONTINUOUS CASTING MACHINE FOR THIN SHEET

PURPOSE:To uniformly pour a molten metal into a casting mold at a low speed and to obtain a good product by providing a perforated plate into a pouring nozzle to once receive the molten metal flow from a tundish and pouring the molten metal through the many holes of the perforated plate into the casting mold. CONSTITUTION:A piece or plural pieces of nozzles 9 are provided to the lower part of the tundish 5 to supply the molten steel 4 to the pouring nozzle 10. The perforated plate 11 is provided to the pouring nozzle 10 so that the molten steel 4 forms a head on the plate 11 and is supplied at a low speed through the many holes into the casting mold formed of a drum 1 and side gates 2, 2'. Since the nozzle 10 has the shape long in the transverse direction, the molten metal flow from the plate 11 is uniform in the transverse direction. The uneven solidification is thereby eliminated and the waving of a molten steel level 8 is prevented.
