The ivention relates to laser-machining. The device which is the subject of the invention comprises a body 1 in which a beam 2 is mounted on a shaft 3, carries a scanning element 4 and cooperates with a means 5 which causes the beam 2 to oscillate, and is characterised in that it comprises a means 7, mounted in the body 1, which reverses the motion of the beam 2 when it oscillates. The device in question can be used for automatic quenching, welding, cutting and surface heat treatment of metal components. <IMAGE>
