PURPOSE:To omit data transfer between a main storage part and an expanded storage part and to shorten processing time by switching an address space in the main storage part to an address space in the extended storage part, and after processing data, switching the address space again to the original one in the main storage part. CONSTITUTION:When a processing request for data D stored in the expanded storage part 3 is generated in a program C, the program C calls a program A in the main storage part 2 and outputs a processing request for a program B and the program A in the main storage part 2 switches the control of a central processing part 1 from the address space AS1 in the main storage part 2 to the address space AS2 in the expanded storage part 3. Since the same image is stored in the same address of both the main storage part 2 and expanded storage part 3, the program A can execute continuous processing during the switching of these storage parts. After the end of switching, the program A in the expanded storage part 3 calls the program B to request processing relating to the data D. The program B processes the data D, and after the end of the data processing, returns its control to the calling program A in the expanded storage part 3.
