Suspension for the bogey of a rail vehicle. The invention relates to a suspension for a bogey of a rail vehicle comprising a chassis and at least one axle box. The suspension comprises at least one helical vertical suspension spring acting between the chassis and the axle box 14. According to the invention, there are provided at least two rigid brackets 12 which are fixed to the chassis of the bogey and which together define vertical faces inclined relative to one another, such that they retain said axle box with play. Elements 20 are received in associated receptacles 18 provided in the axle box 14 opposite the vertical faces, each element consisting of the superposition of a flexible part located on the same side as the axle box and of a rigid part under compressive prestress, capable of sliding with friction against the associated vertical surface. Finally, there are means for fixing the axle box and the rigid parts vertically to one another. This is used for producing bogies having a damping effect on longitudinal and transverse jolts. <IMAGE>
