This handbrake comprises two coaxial hubs 14 located on either side of the lever 1 in order to support the ends of the pivot shaft 2 of the lever. Each hub 14 is connected to the toothed sector 4 by two coplanar flanges 15. The lever 1, the shaft 2 and the toothed sector 4 are supported by a seat 3 comprising two shells 3a and 3b, which each have roughly the shape of a horizontal plate having a roughly rectangular opening 23 for the passage of the lever 1 and of the toothed sector 4, and on either side of the opening 23 receivers 24, formed by a stamping for receiving the hubs 14 and the flanges 15, the latter being confined between the two plates 3a and 3b when they are assembled one on another face to face. <IMAGE>
