PURPOSE:To execute the reproducing tracking easily and with a good accuracy and supplying the special signal to the reproducing signal including the pilot signal and detecting the size of the signal level. CONSTITUTION:The signal reproduced by magnetic heads 3 HA1 and HB1 from a magnetic tape 1 is amplified by a preamplifer circuit 21, demodulated to the original luminance signal by a high pass filter 22, a limiter 23 and an FM demodulating circuit 24, and the reproducing luminance signal is outputted through an output circuit 25 to an output terminal 26. When the tracking dislocation occurs at the HA1 of the magnetic head 3, respective heads reproduce to some extent the signals of tracks T0, T2, T4... which are adjoining tracks. The signal of frequencies f1 and f2 reproduced at such a time is separated by a low pass filter 27, and inputted to a frequency converting circuit 28. From the frequency converting circuit 28, the sum frequency signal between frequencies f1, f2 and the frequency f3 of f4 and the difference frequency signal between f1 f2 and f3 or F4 can be obtained. Thus, the reproducing tracking can be executed easily and with a good accuracy.
