PURPOSE:To preserve the original shape and color for a long period, by replacing and dehydrating a natural flower with an organic solvent, predrying the natural flower until the natural flower is in a bent state, putting the natural flower in a closed container and preserving the natural flower so as to be a frozen state. CONSTITUTION:A natural flower is dipped, replaced and dehydrated with an organic solvent, e.g. ethanol or methanol, and predried until the natural flower in the hard and readily broken state becomes the bent state, and then put into a closed container and preserved at <=-4 deg.C, preferably -4--15 deg.C to retain the original shape and color for a period as long as >=1 year. The predrying is carried out at 40-55 deg.C within 15min-2hr range depending on the kind and state of the flower and kind of the organic solvent, etc. A soft flower tends to cause wrinkles in predrying and a method for mixing a small amount of wax in the solvent for dehydration is adopted to prevent the wrinkle formation, etc. EFFECT:Since the flower can be preserved for a long period, the subsequent embedding in a transparent resin, etc., is readily carried out.
