PURPOSE:To make it possible to appropriately steer rear wheels during a vehicle turning, in a four wheel steering device, by detecting the speed of the vehicle with the use of an actual vehicle speed sensor composed of a vehicle speed sensor which detects the vehicle speed at one wheel, an acceleration sensor and a computing section. CONSTITUTION:An actual vehicle speed signal issued from an actual vehicle speed sensor 12 and a front steering angle signal (a) issued from a front wheel steering angle sensor 13 which detects the manipulation angle of a steering wheel 1 or the actual steering angle of front wheels 6 and issues the front wheel steering angle signal (b) corresponding to the front wheel steering angle, are delivered to a control circuit 11 which competes a steering angle of rear wheels from both signals (a, b) in accordance with a rear wheel steering ratio characteristic that may be obtained with respect to a certain predetermined vehicle speed, and which controls the operation of an actuator 7 to steer the rear wheels 10. |
