PURPOSE:To enable simplification of the construction of the recorder and a total recording process, by using a thermal head for processes such as formation of a latent image, formation of a toner image, transfer of the toner image and fixation. CONSTITUTION:A recording medium 21 fitted between rotary rollers 22a, 22b is turningly fed, and a statically electrified toner layer 29 is provided uniformly on the surface of an insulating resin film 21a of the recording medium 21 by a magnetic brush developing unit 23 closely opposed to the medium 21. Under the condition where a recording paper 30 is disposed along the medium 21 between the medium 21 and a conductor roller 26, a predetermined voltage in the same polarity as that of the layer 29 is impressed on the roller 26. In addition, a thermal head 25 is heated on the basis of a recording image signal to selectively heat the toner layer 29, whereby a heated part of the toner layer 29 is thermally transferred and fixed onto the paper 30. By this, forming of the latent image and the toner image on the recording medium and transfer and fixing of the toner image onto the recording paper 30 can be performed substantially simultaneously. Accordingly, there is no need for such processes as initial electrification of the medium 21, static elimination after recording and removal of the residual toner by cleaning. |
