PURPOSE:To eliminate unnecessary operations to improve the capacity of a vector processor by constituting vector registers so that read from an optional element position and write to an optional element position are possible. CONSTITUTION:The vector processor is provided with plural vector registers VR0-VR2, an operation pipeline 3, and an instruction control part 2 which controls them. Vector registers VR0-VR2 are so constituted that access can be started from an optional element. An optional value is written in an initial value correcting register 1 by an instruction. When receiving the classification of vector operation, designation of vector registers, and a vector instruction, the instruction control part 2 determines the access start position in accordance with contents o the initial value correcting register 1 and the value of displacement corresponding to the designated vector register. |
