PURPOSE:To provide the titled resin foam having excellent flexibility and resistance to heat and chemicals and being suitable for use as a packing, by expanding and crosslinking an ethylene/alkyl acrylate copolymer contg. an alkyl acryalte in a specified weight ratio. CONSTITUTION:An ethylene/alkyl acrylate copolymer (e.g. ethylene/ethyl acryalte copolymer) having a m.p. of 86-102 deg.C and contg. 10-25wt% alkyl acrylate as a comonomer is prepd. A blowing agent (e.g. azodicarbonamide) and optionally a crosslinking agent (e.g. dicumyl peroxide) capable of generating a radical by heating are blended with the copolymer, and the mixture is expanded and crosslinked to obtain the titled resin foam. The foam has an integrated intensity ratio R of 8-32 according to the carbon isotope NMR spectroscopy, represented by equation I and a flexibility index N of 9.5 or below defined by equation II. |
