Tower packing (random or arranged) having a cylindrical plastic wall which has first and second sets of four wings arranged at a distance from each other. In the first and second set of the four wings, each wing is arranged at a distance about the periphery in such a way that the radial centre line of each wing forms an angle of 90 degrees with the centre line of the adjacent wing and each wing is arranged at an angle to the axis of the cylindrical wall. In relation to the second set of four wings which are borne by the cylindrical wall, the wings are arranged around the periphery offset by 45 degrees with respect to the centre lines of the first set of wings.
