The aim of the invention is to create a highly productive disc tool for the metal-working industry, in particular for cutting off annular workpieces. In accordance with the object, the disc tool, with a novel shape of its outer contour, has a multiplicity of tool cutting edges specially treated against wear and having predetermined breaking points for resetting the cutting edges. Thus the tool already has when it is manufactured all the cutting edges necessary for subsequent use as a cut-off or recessing tool during turning and with the requisite cutting-edge geometry which have undergone appropriate surface treatment. <IMAGE>
