A displacement machine for compressible media is proposed, with at least one displacement chamber arranged in a fixed housing and designed in the manner of a spiral slit and with a displacement body also designed in a spiral shape, assigned to each displacement chamber and engaging in the latter, which displacement body is arranged as a tape-shaped strip on a disc-shaped runner (1) driven eccentrically with respect to the housing. A drive arrangement providing the eccentric drive is to act at at least one point on the runner and a guidance device is to act at at least one additional point arranged at a distance therefrom, and means for flexible acceptance of length differences occurring between the two points of action are to be provided. An especially simple equalisation of the length differences is achieved when insert gears (7, 8) provided with a defined tooth flank clearance are provided in the connection between one of the devices, here the guidance device formed by an off-centre pin (13), and the runner (1). <IMAGE>
