PURPOSE:To efficiently obtain crystals without occurrence of deposition of large crystals by feeding a high-temp. crystal-contg. anthracene oil from the top of a cooling tower a discharging it from the bottom while injecting a cooling water from the bottom into the oil through a dispersing device to allow the oil to cool. CONSTITUTION:A crystal-contg. anthracene oil having a temp. of 50-100 deg.C is fed into a vertical cylindrical cooling tower 1 from a crystal-contg. anthracene oil inlet 5 thereof. The residence time of the anthracene oil within the cooling tower 1 is maintained so that the cooling rate is 12 deg.C/hr, and the crystal-contg. anthracene oil is taken out of a crystal-contg. anthracene oil outlet 6. Cooling water is fed from a cooling water inlet 2 provided at the bottom of the cooling tower 1, injected in a droplet form into the crystal-contg. anthracene oil at an injecting rate of 50-300mm/sec from pores having a diameter of 1-5mm provided at a cooling water-dispersing device, rises through the tower to directly cool the crystal-contg. anthracene oil for crystallization and is discharged from a cooling water outlet 4.
