PURPOSE:To provide a plasticizer for chlorine-contg. vinyl resins, which has excellent plasticization efficiency, drip-proofness and resistance to voltatilization and migration, consisting of an ester compd. contg. an ether linkage in its alkyl chain. CONSTITUTION:The titled plasticizer consists of a compd. of formula I or II [wherein X is a residue of a 2-6C (substd.) aliph., alicyclic or arom. polybasic acid; Y is an epoxidized cyclohexane ring; Rs may be the same or different groups and each is a 3-15C straight-chain or branched alkyl; A is a 2-4C alkylene; m<1>, m<2> may be the same or different and each is an integer of 1-7; n is an integer of 2-5; the sum of the carbon atoms of A+R is 5-17]. Said compd. can be easily obtd. by a conventional ester producing method using, as starting materials, an aliph., alicyclic or arom. polybasic acid and a hydroxyl- terminated compd. wherein the sum of the carbon atoms of alcohol and alkylene oxide is 5-17, obtd. by adding 1-7mol of a 2-4C alkylene oxide to a 3-15C straight-chain or branched alcohol.
