PURPOSE:To attain copy for the 1st sheet without fail even when no full picture is stored in a memory by using a picture memory as a line memory for the 1st page and as a page memory with respect to the 2nd and succeeding pages. CONSTITUTION:Whether or not the copy mode is judged (S10) at first, and in case of the copy mode, the information read by a reader is stored in a page memory in the picture memory (S12). In this state, a printer is started (S13), and whether or not a multi-copy flag is set is judged (S14). In copying the 1st page, until the original read is finished and one line is read, the read information is stored in the memory and printed (S15-S18). In copying the 2nd and succeeding pages, the picture data is recorded from the page memory by one line each (S13, S31, S32). When the print of the all set numbers is finished (S20), the multi-copy flag is reset (S21).
