PURPOSE:To realize both vertical and horizontal profile emphasis with a simple circuit by applying vertical profile emphasis only to a low frequency component and using a narrow band CCD analog shift register for one line delay line. CONSTITUTION:An output signal of an arithmetic unit 15 is fed to a low pass filter 16 and a high pass filter 17 having an equal delay time so as to filter a signal having a characteristic (k) and (l). A low frequency signal (k) is fed to a narrow band CCD analog shift register is a 1-line delay line 18 so as to be a signal kSt subject to 1H delay. On the other hand, a horizontal aperture compensation signal is fed to a delay line having the same delay time as that of the low pass filter 16 and the high filter 17 and becomes a signal i'. The arithmetic unit 21 generates a signal having a frequency spectrum shown in broken lines (n). An arithmetic unit 23 adds a signal (o) obtained by mixing the signals (l) and i' at a proper ratio an the signal (n) so as to generate a signal having a frequency spectrum shown in solid lines (p) and the result is outputted to an output terminal 24.
