PURPOSE:To manufacture the titled material having high heat resistance and strength, by mixing whiskers with a controlling liquid contg. organic metal compd. and stirring them, pouring the mixture into mold, removing liquid therefrom, pressing and drying it to obtain preliminary compact, and pressing, permeating molten matrix metal thereto. CONSTITUTION:The whiskers 11 (SiC) are mixed in the controlling liquid 12, to stir them by a stirrer 13. Controlling liquid is composed of organic solvent contg. SiO2, TiO2 systems as effective constituents. Next a suspension 14 mixed with the whisker 11 is poured in a cylindrical mold 15, and the liquid 12 is sucked by a sucking apparatus 17 through a filter 16. Further the whisker 11 under wet state is pressed by a press 18, and dried to a whisker preliminary compact 19. In this way, the liquid 12 is permeated to detail of the whisker 11 without causing cavity, and a film 20 having smooth surface is formed. The compact 19 is inserted in mold, light alloy such as Al system is poured, pressed and infiltrated to prepare metallic composite material.
