PURPOSE:To permit the top blowing, bottom blowing or top and bottom blowing with a top and bottom blown converter by providing a top blowing lance and tuyeres consisting of inside pipes and outside pipes to the furnace bottom and closing or opening the inside and outside pipes. CONSTITUTION:The tuyeres 4 of the top and bottom blown converter which consists of a shell 1 and refractories 2, is provided with the tuyeres 4 at the furnace bottom 3 and has the top blowing lance 7 are made of the double pipe tuyeres each consisting of the inside pipe 5 and the outside pipe 6. Gaseous oxygen from the pipes 5 and cooling gas from the pipes 6 are simultaneously bottom-blown and at the same time the gaseous oxygen is blown from the top blowing lance 7, by which the top and bottom blowing is executed. The execution of bottom blowing, top blowing as well as cooling and top blowing is made possible by stopping the top blowing, if necessary, or closing the inside pipes 5 and opening the outside pipes 6 or closing both of the inside and outside pipes 5, 6. The inside pipe 5 of the abnormally worm tuyere 4 is closed and is cooled by the outside pipe 6 if the tuyere 4 is abnormally eroded. The other tuyeres 4 open the eroded tuyere 4 to restore the same again to the normal state, then the furnace is operated. |
