PURPOSE:To secure stable startability to reduce the power by switching a reference voltage in accordance with the output state of an operation start/stop detecting circuit. CONSTITUTION:The output voltage of a reference voltage generating circuit 101 of a voltage control circuit is buffered by a voltage comparator 102 and is supplied to a load 107. MOS transistors TRs 103 and 104 are operated as power switches to reduce the power of the circuit. The circuit is so controlled that the output voltage of the reference voltage generating circuit 101 is reduced when a MOS TR 109 is turned on by a CTR signal 110. When an impressed voltage is changed considerably, the circuit is stably started first by the first output voltage and the operation is continued next with the power reduced by the second output voltage smaller than the first output voltage.
