PURPOSE:To prevent runaway and breakdown of a computer at the wake-up time by emitting an alarm tone for a certain time before wake-up of a system. CONSTITUTION:The system consists of a CPU 1, a ROM 2, a RAM 3, a liquid crystal display body 5, a memory 6, an I/O 7, an extended I/O 12, etc., and the CPU 1 discriminates input keys from a keyboard 8 connected to the CPU 1 through the I/O 7 to drive a buzzer 9 or the like. A sub-CPU 10 is connected to the I/O 7 to transfer data to and from the CPU 1. The sub-CPU 10 has the clock function, and power is always supplied by a power supply control circuit 14 even when the system is turned off. A set value of the present time, a set value of the alarm time, a turning-off instruction of the system, a buzzer control instruction for wake-up due to alarm, etc. are given from the CPU 1. In accordance with a program, the buzzer 9 is sounded for a certain time when the present time coincides with the alarm time, and the power source of the system is turned on thereafter.
