PURPOSE:To obtain a diagnostic function with simple corresponding even to a change in a supervision object by using a transmission line set occurrence in which the relation between a fault signal and the transmission line, longitudinal hierarchy of optional transmission line section and lateral communication are defined. CONSTITUTION:A station record type 20 and a signal record type 21 are provided as a data base of a computer supervising a station to be supervised and as the correlation among record type, a signal transmission line set type 25 defining the relation between a fault signal and the transmission line, and a transmission line set type 27 defining the hierarchy from high to low rank in observing the transmission line longitudinally at an optional section and lateral communication in dividing the transmission line in the transmission sections are provided. Then a signal transmission line set type is retrieved from a fault signal sent from a station to be supervised to discriminate the transmission line.
