OPERATING METHOD FOR INDUCTION MOTOR

PURPOSE:To brake an induction motor while regenerating a braking energy to a power source without increasing the capacity of a power converter by switching the motor energized by the output of frequency converting means through a transformer to a commercial power source and regeneratively braking the motor. CONSTITUTION:An inverter 2 and an AC transformer 3 are energized by an AC power source 1. The inverter 2 or the transformer 3 are switched by switches 5, 6 and connected with an induction motor 4. The inverter 2 supplies an output of the frequency larger than the power source 1 through the switch 5 to the motor 4, and the witch 6 is closed when the motor 4 is braked to regeneratively brake it through the transformer 3.
