PURPOSE:To stably control the pH of an electrolyte by monitoring the pH during the electrolytic treatment and liquid chemical dosing and calculating the required dose of the liquid chemical except hydrogen ion which does not contribute to the pH and the dosing time thereof. CONSTITUTION:The required amt. of the liquid chemical to be dosed except the hydrogen ion which does not contribute to the pH is calculated by the deviation between the present pH and the target pH at the point of the time when the pH of the electrolyte deviates from a permissible range in the electrolytic treatment stage of a steel sheet. The dosing time of the liquid chemical is calculated from the calculated dose and the capacity of a pump for dosing the liquid chemical. The pH fluctuated by the electrolytic treatment is calculated during the dosing period. The liquid chemical dose meeting the calculated pH fluctuation is again calculated. The sum of the liquid chemical dose obtd. by repeating several times such operation is determined as the actual dose. The pH control of a plating liquid, etc., in an electroplating line is stabilized by such control method.
