PURPOSE:To decrease current consumption and to miniaturize a power circuit by splitting heat sensing heads into the 1st and 2nd heat sensing head element groups and driving them in time division at each gradation. CONSTITUTION:The system is selected so that all print operations of one vertical operation line are finished in 4 frames, the picture data of one vertical operation line is stored in a memory RAM at a period Tw close to one frame during the 1st one frame period and the print of one vertical scanning line is executed based on the picture data stored in the memory at a period TR close to one frame during the next one frame period. Then in the print at each gradation, suppose that the 1st heat sensing head element group HA is driven for print at the first half, the 2nd heat sensing head element group HB applies print at the latter half. The 1st and 2nd heat sensing head element groups HA,HB are drive in time division (thus, pulse driven) in this way.
