PURPOSE:To perform precise rotation detection even if a detector 10 has variance in the arrangement direction by using the 1st resistance element which is substantially circular and the 2nd resistance element which is connected thereto for a sensor part which detects magnetic force from a rotating body. CONSTITUTION:The 1st resistance element 12 of the sensor part of the detector 10 is magnetized with magnetic force from the magnetic field production part of the rotating body 1 and has a substantially circular shape so that the direction of the magnetism and a current flowing through the element 12 becomes parallel to each other. The 2nd resistance element 13 is connected in series with or in parallel to the element 3 and constitutes a bridge circuit together with output terminals 14A-14C connected to end parts of the elements 12 and 13. When the rotating body 1 rotates, a periodic magnetic field is established at the periphery and a specific voltage is applied between the terminals 14B and 14C. Part of the current flowing during one turn of the rotating body; 1 flows in parallel to the direction of the magnetic field, so the resistance value across the element 12 varies greatly. Therefore, the voltage between the terminals 14a and 14B varies greatly and periodically according to the rotation of the rotating body 1, so this signal is processed to easily detect the rotation of the rotating body 1.
