<p>Secondary rechargeable battery which comprises a substantially hermetically sealed housing having at least two and preferably three or more cells electrically connected in series. Such a cell is shown in the sole drawing. Each cell contains a pair of electrodes. At least one of said pair of electrodes is a commonly shared, unitary electrode, (16A, 16B), which extends between a pair of adjacent (14A, 14B) cells. The commonly shared electrode is constructed of a single material and a size sufficient to form an electrically effective electrode in each adjacent cell, thus forming a positive electrode in one cell and a negative electrode in the adjacent cell.</p> |
