摘要 PURPOSE:To make a rate of fuel consumption and a power transmission characteristic improvable, by setting a range of slippage in a hydraulic power transmission system according to a select signal out of a manually selectable car driving mode selecting device. CONSTITUTION:When a signal of a driving mode selector switch, selecting a car driving mode to power or economy modes, is inputted into an electronic unit, each of discriminating values e1-e4 in a velocity ratio (e) of an input- output member of a torque converter or a parameter setting a degree of slippage in a direct coupling clutch is set according to the driving model. With this constitution, for example, when the power mode is selected, these discriminating values e1-e4 in the velocity ratio (e) are relatively set to be smaller, that is, such clutch control that attaches more importance to power performance than fuel consumption comes to fruition.
