The waste is removed from a channel at the sewage works, compressed and rinsed with water. Liq. and water are returned to the channel for further treatment and the solid is removed in cake form. The waste enters the treatment arrangement via a funnel. A piston closes on it lightly compressing it against the slide It is then rinsed with water from the reservoir which passes through the pipe. Compression is then completed to form a block of solid waste.
