PURPOSE:To prevent the effect due to crosstalk from an adjacent track by notching a lower magnetic film except a part corresponding to a track width in the direction of a contact face of a magnetic recording medium. CONSTITUTION:Lower magnetic films 2 having a width nearly equal to a track width Tw are formed on a base 1 made of a non-magnetic material such as ceramic with a guard band G mutually independently with notch in a direction of a contact face to a magnetic recording medium. Then upper magnetic films 4 having a width equal to the track width Tw are formed on the lower magnetic films 2 via a gap film 3 made of a material such as SiO2, channels 1, 2 are formed independently by the combination of the lower magnetic films 2 and the upper magnetic films 4 so as to form them which act like a 2-channel thin film magnetic head. Thus, the pickup of magnetic flux leaked from adjacent tracks or the pickup of a reproducing signal from adjacent tracts at the edge of the lower magnetic films is avoided. |
