PURPOSE:To improve the quality of a toner image after transfer by providing a magnetic field producing means nearby a magnetic drum and behind a developing roller in the rotating direction of the recording drum. CONSTITUTION:The magnetic field producing means 33 which has a magnetic pole 34 different from the polarity of a latent image 36 formed on a recording medium 35 is provided behind the developing roller 31 in the rotating direction of the recording drum 32 opposite the recording medium 35. A magnetic filed is applied to toner 37 sticking on the latent image 35 on the recording medium 35 at right angles to the recording drum 32 and the position of a branch toner chain 37A is so corrected as to correspond to the formation area of the latent image 36 on the recording medium 35, thereby preventing the peripheral part of a print image after transfer recording from blurring. Consequently, a high- definition transfer image having no blurring at its periphery of the print image is obtained.
