PURPOSE:To obtain an evaporator capable of working with reduced consumption of heat energy reducing a load of a vacuum generating device by installing a heat exchanger to between an outlet of an absorber and a heating boiler to remove only excess heat. CONSTITUTION:Liquid A to be treated which is introduced into an evaporator 10 is heated in a heating boiler 12 by exchanging heat. Steam V1 evaporated under vacuum is sucked into an absorber 20, and the treated liquid is concentrated and discharged as recovered liquid P. On one hand, an absorbent is circulated in the absorber 20, which is diluted by absorbing the steam V1. H2SO4, NaOH, etc., having high boiling point elevation rate is used as the adsorbent. The liquid absorbent is heated by the heat of dilution and the heat of condensation due to the condensation of the steam, then transferred to a heating side of the heating boiler 12 to serve as the heat source for the evaporation of the liquid A to be treated. Thus, the evaporator 10 has high heat efficiency because an absorption type heat pump is formed where the heat of the steam generated by itself is fed to the heating boiler 12 as the heat source.
