<p>PURPOSE:To form a liquid crystal display device having a coordinate input function as an I/O united liquid crystal display device by providing a dot matrix liquid crystal display device with a coordinate input function. CONSTITUTION:The scanning lines of X and Y axes arranged like gratings are connected through switching elements 13, 14 so that respective X axes form loops each other and respective Y axes also form loops each other similarly. At the time of display, the switching elements 13, 14 are opened and the scanning lines are used as driving signal lines for an active dot matrix. At the time of input, the switching elements 13, 14 are closed and the scanning lines are connected like loops and used as signal lines for detecting magnetic lines of force. Consequently, the liquid crystal display device having the coordinate input function can be formed as the I/O united liquid crystal display device.</p> |
