PURPOSE:To enable reduction of intake resistance, by a method wherein, in a title device which has a twin intake port and is of a varying intake swirl system, a spot, where a bypass intake passage formed in a manner to run around a helical port at the downstream of an intake control valve is formed, is designed. CONSTITUTION:A title intake port device has a straight port 1 and a helical port 2, divided from each other by means of partitions 3 and 4, and the straight port 1 is opened and closed by an intake control valve 14 situated to the inlet part of the straight port. Further, the device has a bypass intake passage 15 through which the downstream of the intake control valve 14 in the straight port 1 is communicated with the final end part of the spiral of the helical port 2. In which case, the bypass suction passage 15 is formed through removal of the port open end side of a side wall 3 on the helical port 2 side, and the port open end side of a side wall on the helical passage 10 side is open to the helical passage 10.
