PURPOSE:To ensure high heat resistance, tensile strength or the like, appropriate and favorable operability in recording and enable clear images to be obtained, by forming a surface layer from a polyarylate resin and a conductivity-providing agent. CONSTITUTION:The title current-sensitized thermal transfer recording material is a laminate having a four-layer construction, in which the surface layer consists of 100pts.wt. of a polyarylate resin and 5-250pts.wt. of a conductivity providing agent, and has a surface resistance of 10<3>-10<7>OMEGA. A resistance layer for generating heat at the time of current-sensitized recording consists of 100pts.wt. of a thermoplastic resin and 20-400pts.wt. of a conductive fine powder, has a surface resistance of 10<2>-10<4>OMEGA, and is laminated on the surface layer. The ratio of the surface resistance of the surface layer to that of the resistance layer is preferably 10-10<3>. A conductive layer consists of a thin metallic film, has a surface resistance of 0.1-50OMEGA, and is laminated on the resistance layer. The ratio of the surface resistance of the resistance layer to that of the conductive layer is preferably 10<2>-10<4>. A thermal transfer layer consists of a binder and a coloring agent, has a surface resistance of not lower than 10<2>OMEGA, and is laminated on the conductive layer. The recording material is free of possibility of damage of the surface layer, and can be used for current-sensitized thermal transfer recording with favorable operability. |
