PURPOSE:To improve the safety, in a premixing burner, by providing a back-fire detecting electrode in the passage for air-gas mixture between a gas nozzle and a burner opening. CONSTITUTION:Back-fire detection electrodes 10a and 10b are disposed in the passage 7 for air-gas mixture M between a gas nozzle 6 and a burner opening 2 and electrically connected to a gas valve 9 through a controller 8. By the arrangement stated above, when a back fire takes place, an electric conductivity is formed between the electrodes 10a and 10b, causing the gas valve 9 to be closed through the controller 8, resulting in extinction, thus leading to an improved safety of operation.
