PURPOSE:A thermoplastic resin composition, consisting of an impact-resistant styrene based resin, polybutadiene rubber having a specific molecular weight distribution as a toughening agent and a polyphenylene ether resin and having high impact resistance and good coloring properties. CONSTITUTION:A thermoplastic resin consisting of (A) a polyphenylene ether, preferably poly(2,6-dimethyl-1,4-phenylene)ether and (B) an impact-resistant styrene based resin obtained by polymerizing (i) 5-15pts.wt. polybutadiene rubber having >=90mol% cis-1,4-bond, >=3.5 ratio (MW/MN) of the weight-average molecular weight (MW) to the number-average molecular weight (MN) with two-peak distribution curve and 100-250cP viscosity (S.V.) of a 5wt% toluene solution measured at 25 deg.C with (ii) 85-95pts.wt. styrene based monomer and obtained by incorporating 80-20pts.wt. component (A) with 20-80pts.wt. component (B) and melting the resultant mixture while heating.
