PURPOSE:To improve the reliability of an optical connector by filling an area surrounded by the inside surface of a non-soldered part of a ferrule, the inside surface of a non-caulked part of a ferrule supporting body and the terminal part of an optical fiber coat with resin. CONSTITUTION:The ferrule consisting of ceramics is pressed into a spot facing hole formed on the ferrule supporting body 2 consisting of metal and united. An optical fiber coat 5 is removed from a terminal part of an optical fiber core 8 consisting of an optical fiber 4 and the optical fiber coat 5 to expose the optical fiber 4 and the exposed optical fiber 4 is inserted into an axial hole 7 of the ferrule 1 and fixed in the axial hole 7 with solder 6. the unexposed part of the optical fiber 4 is inserted into a center hole 8 of the ferrule supporting body 2 and the center hole 8 is compressed so as to be permanently deformed and engaged with the coat 5 to fix the coat 5 by caulking the outer periphery of the back end part 10 of the supporting body 2. Then, resin 9 is loaded to the area surrounded by the inside surface 1a of the nonsoldering part of the ferrule, the inside surface 2a of the noncaulked part of the supporting body 2 and the terminal part 3a of the coat 5 from an injection hole 11. |
