PURPOSE:To obtain the titled polymer useful as a polymer alloy, an emulsifying agent, etc., grafting a block copolymer of a peroxide group-containing vinyl ester monomer and another monomer onto a propylene polymer. CONSTITUTION:(A) A radically copolymerizable peroxycarbonate shown by the formula I (R1 is H or 1-4C alkyl; R2 and R3 are 1-4C alkyl; R4 is 1-12C alkyl, etc.) is copolymerized with (ii) a vinyl ester monomer (e.g., vinyl formate, etc.) by the use of a polymerization initiator (e.g., polymeric peroxide, etc.) at 50-80 deg.C. Then, (B) an aromatic vinyl monomer (e.g., styrene, etc.) and another copolymerizable monomer (e.g., methyl acrylate, etc.) are added to the component A in such a way that the amount of the component A is <=50wt% and polymerization is continued to give a block copolymer. This block copolymer is blended with a propylene polymer by a molding machine, to give the aimed polymer. |
