PURPOSE:To provide a lubricant composition containing a specific oil-soluble molybdenum compound and a sulfur-containing compound as essential components, and having excellent oxidation resistance, abrasion resistance, lubricity and solubility in mineral oil and high corrosion resistance to metals such as copper, iron, etc. CONSTITUTION:The objective lubricant composition contains, as essential components, (A) an oil-soluble molybdenum compound obtained by reacting (i) a 6-valent molybdenum compound consisting of molybdenum trioxide and/or molybdic acid (alkali metal salt) with (ii) an amino compound of formula I (R1-R3 are H or 1-30C hydrocarbon group; the sum of C numbers of R1-R3 is >=4) and (B) a sulfur-containing compound. The component B is e.g. the compound of formula II-IV (R4 and R5 are 3-24C hydrocarbon group; R6 is 7-24C hydrocarbon group; X is S or O). USE:Additive for preventing the pitting abrasion of various engine parts, etc. |
