MANUFACTURE OF LITHIUM CELL

PURPOSE:To obtain a cell having good current collection performance and long discharge time by cleaning the portion of lithium metal plate surface contacting against the cell case immediately before inserting into the cell case. CONSTITUTION:Cleaning method of the surface of lithium metal includes physical removal of oxide film and chemical removing. Physical removing method includes polishing with polishing paper or a file while chemical removing method includes immersion into treating solvent such as alcohol. For example, the lithium metal plate 2 is polished at the portion contacting against the cell case by means of polishing paper immediately before insertion into the cell case 1. The cell case 1 and the cell cover 7 are welded at eight points.
