Channelling of methacrylate etc. mould parts

The process comprises prepn. of a preformed methacrylate element. Location above this of a mould at a set temp. gives controlled pressing so that the penetration rate of the mould exceeds the heat transmission rate of the element. The pressure, temp. and vol. of material are interrelated, and rapid cooling of the element is provided by liquid emulsified in air.
