<p>The invention comprises a device for fixing a joint prosthesis 1, 2, 5 in which all the surfaces which are intended to be in contact with tissues consist of titanium or a metal material based on titanium compatible with the tissues. In order to safely anchor the prosthesis in relation to the bone tissue, sharp-pointed fixing elements 3, 11, 16 which are driven into the bony tissue using their sharp-pointed parts on the side of the bone tissue which faces the prosthesis and which are anchored by cement 9 between the prosthesis and the bony tissue or directly to the prosthesis in such a way that a solid connection is established for the bony tissue which grows over the anchored sharp-pointed parts are used. For appropriate adjustment of the cup of the joint prosthesis and the ball of the joint prosthesis these members are moulded under pressure and heat, each respective joint surface being shaped against a mould of a model of the coupling joint surface, and are hardened or sintered in contact, with preservation of shape, in order to reduce any subsequent treatment to a minimum.</p> |
