PURPOSE:To minimize the crosstalk at the section of YC and to minimize the reduction of the resolution of an animation picture by YC-multiplexing so that the band limitation of a luminance signal Y can be small as much as possible at the image sending side. CONSTITUTION:At the time of animation, the crosstalk occurs and the band limitation is necessary. The band limitation of a Y signal may be executed only at the place where the crosstalk with a C component occurs. Then, it should be thought that the crosstalk part with the C component can be minimized as much as possible. Namely, in case of the animation, the C component is divided into a low area frequency component CL and a high area component CH, the CH is frequency-shifted and inserted to the first and third quadrants of the 'vertical-time' frequency area into which YH' is inserted, and the horizontal frequency is included into the frequency of CL. Thus, the crosstalk component of the horizontal frequency with the Y comes to be smaller, the band limitation of Y can be minimized and the resolution of the animation can be improved.
