COLOR FILTER AND ITS PRODUCTION

PURPOSE:To improve pattern reproducibility by constituting a dyed layer of a dye receptive layer on which dyes are received and color patterns are formed and a protective layer which is formed on the surface of the receptive layer and consists of the crosslinked material of a PVA. CONSTITUTION:This color filter is constituted of the laminated body of the dye receptive layer 1 on which the plural color patterns (a), (b), (c) are formed by dyeing and the protective layer 2 which is formed on the surface of the layer 1 and consists of the crosslinked material the PVA. A film3 consisting of a resin, etc. is formed as necessary on the surface of layer 2 to improve the mechanical strength and shape retentivity of the color filter. The film thicknesses of the layer 1 and the layer 2 are properly selected according to the purposes of use. The dye receptive layer 1 is preferably 0.1-5mum thick, the protective layer 2 0.1-1mum and the film 3 0.5-3mum.
