PURPOSE:To prevent airflow path from being blocked due to frosting and improve heat transfer performance by a method wherein flat plate type refrigerant flow paths are arranged in parallel to the direction of air-flow and the interval of the flow path is narrowed toward the downstream side while a plurality of longer fin members are provided as the path approaches to the downstream side to improve heat transfer coefficient and increase the heat transfer area of the airflow path. CONSTITUTION:The airflow flows between the fin members 6 along the flat plate type refrigerant flow path 5 while effecting heat exchange between refrigerant, which enters from a refrigerant inlet pipe 7 and flows into a direction opposing to the direction of airflow. Accordingly, a dead water area in the refrigerant flow path will never affect badly to the fins and the fins are utilized effectively to increase the heat transfer performance. In the area having a wide interval between fins, in which the flow can be regarded to be the flow on a single flat plate, the dimension of the fin in the direction of airflow is shortened to contrive the improvement of an average heat transfer coefficient while the dimension in the airflow direction is elongated to increase the heat transfer area, prevent the airflow path from being blocked due to frosting phenomenon and realize the improvement of heat transfer performance in the area wherein the interval between fins is narrow and the flow is closed to the flow between parallel flat plates.
