PURPOSE:To reduce the range of dispersion of discharge starting voltage by forming the discharge-occurring end portion of electrodes into an uneven shape. CONSTITUTION:In the electrodes 1 and 2 of the recording head, a forked electrode element is formed in such a way as to put the cross point of a matrix between the elements. By applying low-signal to the desired one of openings 14 corresponding to the cross points of the matrix, an electrostatic latent image is obtained on an electrostatic recording medium 20. As voltage is applied across the electrodes 1 and 2, discharge is first started in the portion B near the discharge end portion 15 of the electrode 2, where the discharge amount is nearly proportional to the length of the end portion 15 in the portion where the electrodes 1 and 2 are lapped on each other. By forming the end portion 15 into an uneven shape, therefore, the area of the lapped portion is increased and a great amount of discharge is obtained. Also, by the formation of the unevenportion, the starting of discharge can be made easier and the dispersion of discharge starting voltage can be reduced. |
