<p>The novel method for manufacturing corks from cork according to the invention consists in machining, from plates of cork, cylindrical bars C extending in the direction of the grain of the cork and whose diameter corresponds to the diameter of the corks to be manufactured increased by an excess thickness necessary for finishing, then in sectioning these bars in segments T whose length L is determined each time as a function of the quality of the cork of which they are composed.
