<p>PURPOSE:To shorten the display time and to reduce the overhead for input detection by providing a circuit on the same plane as the scan and display electrodes of a drive array for a display device at a place near the intersecting point of both electrodes to short-circuit both electrode with reception of the light. CONSTITUTION:A storing capacitor 4 having its end of the other side grounded via a MOS transistor 3 and a liquid crystal cell 9 with its end of the other side connected to a transparent electrode 10 are connected to the intersecting point between a display electrode 2 and a scan electrode 1 of a liquid crystal display device. The cell 9 is actuated by the electric charge stored in the capacitor 4 when the write signal and the display data signal are applied to the electrodes 1 and 2 respectively. While a photodetecting transistor TR12 and a resistance 13 are connected to said intersecting point of both electrodes via a detecting MOS TR11. The TR12 is turned on with irradiation of a light pen, etc. and the TR11 is also turned on. Thus the intersecting point is short- circuited.</p> |
